The Rehabilita Madrid 2025 Plan is one of the main municipal-level grants for elevator installation. Its aim is to promote the improvement of residential building accessibility, focusing on five key areas: accessibility, conservation, energy efficiency, health, and safety.
The subsidy can cover up to 75% of the project cost in neighborhoods considered most vulnerable, providing a strong incentive for communities to carry out elevator installations and other structural improvements. Furthermore, applications are accepted during two yearly windows: from June 1 to July 31, 2025, and from October 1 to December 1, 2025.
Adapta 2025 Plan
The Adapta 2025 Plan is another key grant program for elevator installation in Madrid, designed to complement the Rehabilita Plan. It focuses specifically on residences and communities where people with disabilities live, aiming to eliminate architectural and sensory barriers, improve autonomy and safety, and facilitate mobility within buildings.
The subsidies available under the Adapta Plan can cover up to 90% of the project cost, depending on the degree of recognized disability. The program is divided into four adaptation lines: Line A: Adaptation of homes for people with disabilities. Line B: Adaptation of commercial premises in residential buildings. Other Municipalities
- In the Community of Madrid, municipalities such as Leganés, Alcorcón, and Móstoles also provide grant opportunities for elevator installation similar to the regional programs.
- In Leganés, the subsidies finance the installation of elevators and conservation and energy efficiency works in old buildings, with a budget of 743,000 euros.
- In Alcorcón, the grants cover energy rehabilitation, accessibility, including elevators, with a special line for vulnerability that can reach 100% of the cost, up to 20,750 euros per unit, with an application deadline until June 30, 2026. While in Móstoles, up to 2,500 euros are granted to promote the autonomy of the elderly, dependents, or people with disabilities, intended for elevators, ramps, and home adaptations.
